Freer has the dragon, Fionn, aka Finn, separated from the girl, Meg, and describes their journey toward reunion. The novel alternates between the Finn story, and the Meg story as Finn searches various planes for Meg. He's guided by Meg's dog, who is able to sense the girl across the various planes of existence. The usual number of baddies are encountered, and there is a nominally happy ending.
The story is entertaining, but it is not particularly deep, which is fine. I expect there will be more along this line that will resolve some of the problems and plot points that were brought out in this novel.
